Kido Reduces Inventory by 20% and Eliminates Warehouse by Upgrading to Acumatica

Bethesda, MD, February 1, 2012 Acumatica, a provider of Cloud ERP software, today announced that Kido, one of the largest baby furniture and accessories retailers in Canada, has improved its business by installing Acumatica Cloud ERP. By moving to the Cloud, Kido was able to more efficiently manage inventory across multiple locations, resulting in an inventory reduction of 20%. This allowed Kido to close a warehouse while improving response time for special orders.

“We needed the best software to manage hundreds of suppliers, thousands of orders, and over 20,000 SKUs,” said Daniel Arsenault, President at Kido. “Acumatica replaced several systems and provides us a singular view of our inventory. This allows Kido to meet the needs of our customers by providing the largest selection of baby furniture and accessories as well as an efficient special orders process.”

Acumatica delivered a customizable web-based solution that could integrate with Kido’s existing ecommerce solution as well as its on-premise retail management system (RMS). With the help of Acumatica reseller SIPD, Kido created a process to help them make real-time purchasing decisions across multiple retail stores using min/max functionality.

Acumatica was selected over client-server alternatives such as Epicor and Sage Accpac ERP because the Cloud delivered a highly scalable solution that can be centrally managed and accessed from anywhere. This allows Kido to place thousands of special orders from customer service kiosks so customers can get exactly what they want without leaving the store. Acumatica reduced the total cost of ownership by utilizing existing infrastructure and eliminating client software and costly upgrades. Unlike other Cloud solutions, Acumatica includes robust integration tools to simplify data import and communication with external systems.
